If you live in the Carlow or Wexford areas you will probably have noticed that the top of Mount Leinster looks a little different over the past few weeks. I took a walk to the RTE transmitter compound on the summit to see what was going on.

The sign on the gate bills the event as 'renewal works' on the RTE mast. They are erecting a second mast beside the original mast. I don't know if the old mast is to be removed but I suspect it may be redundant when analogue television is phased out.

The activity on the top of mount Leinster can be seen from miles around

It must have been fun getting that huge crane to the top of the mountain
